Bath panel or tiled?

We're replacing our bathroom and both dh and the bathroom design man have suggested tiling the side of the bath instead of using a plastic bath panel. I'm not convinced it'll look good though. The tiles we've chosen are large and pale grey. Has anyone done this and is pleased with it? Any photos would be amazing too!

one thing - if you tile the bath then have to look under it for any reason they tend to have to break the tiles to get them off so make sure to have plenty of left overs

Yep, that's something else I'd thought about Bunny.

We had our bath panel tiled. The builder made a panel out of waterproof board, which was then tiled onto. The tiled board was slotted in and siliconed all round. When we needed to access under the bath, the plumber just had to cut the silicone and wriggle the tiled panel out, then replace and redo the silicone once finished. No broken tiles.

Put wooden tongue and groove on the side and paint the same colour as the walls....

We’ve gone for plain white flat plastic gloss panel. Cheap as chips, easy to clean, easy to remove to access. Wall tiles are also white and it looks really clean and tidy. This is the family bathroom and we do tend to go for practical as priority.

I've regretted for 13 years that I didn't have the side of the bath tiled.

Thanks for the input everyone. Minipie that’s sounds like a good way of doing things. Still undecided!

I went for plastic white gloss panel for cheapness and ease.

Tiled side undoubtedly looks better. Like PP suggest if you do tile make sure it’s a board that is just silicon in place so you can easily get at it if needed.

I'm not a fan of tiled bath sides.

Love tiled panels, like when they match wall but seeing more and more matching floor which is cool. Search Pinterest for inspo and pics.
