London Electrician Recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a reliable London electrician they have used themselves?
Did you get multiple quotes before using them and were they cheap/middle of the range/expensive?

I'm coming up to completion on my first home and I know the electrical system needs some love. I'm not sure if it will require a complete rewire or not but I definitely want to add some downlights and more sockets. I'm planning to try and get wiring work done shortly after I move in (so I can leave things in boxes so they don't get too dusty) and then get my builder to do the plaster repairs afterwards. I'll get to the enormous task of decorating after all that is done.

It's a 2 bedroom ground floor flat built in approx 1890 that hasn't had any updates made to it since the late 70's. I would like to:

  • Remove some unnecessary phone ports and random loose cabling from the many prior satellite tv's and internet connections
  • Install new downlights in the kitchen and hallway
  • Add a few new power sockets
  • Swap the light switch and power socket fittings to new ones

Any hints/tips or questions I should ask are also welcome! Halo

London is a very big place
Which area?

You're probably better off looking at somewhere local to you like Nextdoor
Or use Check a trade

Hi Tenbob,

The new house is in Brockley, South East London.

I've had a look at the likes of Trusted Traders etc, however, I was hoping to get some more personal recommendations in addition to cold calling/emailing electricians as I've heard some horror stories about the quality of work.
