Hi wise mumnetters,
slowly renovating my house and after some advice for my living room please.
Having a multifuel log burner installed next week.
What would you do with that wall??
Lounge being completely redecorated now. However next year I'm adding a kitchen exstention as shown on these plans, and lounge door will change top central double doors.
Any advice on general layout would also be very welcome!
I'm considering having matching cupboard and shelves to the left. but don't like that it's not even....

There's not a lot you can do about that as it's the position of the chimney that means the alcoves are uneven. You could have similar to the other side with a double unit instead.

Same in our lounge here.

Am going to put bespoke shelves on the larger side, and an in built cupboard on the other.

I have the same issue - can’t live with it being asymmetric - so I have pin pointed the centre of the room and am building out the chimney breast widthways and repositioning the opening. Currently breast it is 130cm will be extended by 70 to 200cm.
