We are about to put our house on the market and interested to know any useful tips to make the photos look as good as possible?!

I know keep things tidy, clear things from kitchen worktops etc but is there anything else I should be doing? Any helpful tips appreciated.

Thanks.

When the man from the estate agents came to take the pictures I just made sure I cleared each room as we went along so they was pretty bare (gives potential buyers the view of what their own home would be like not yours) he didn't mind waiting but moving the kids stuff out the way made it look so much more spacious and I had 2 over offers in the same week!!

The best tip is to use an EA that has a professional photographer take the photos. The photos were far superior and it wasn't a high end EA, just something they offered as standard. Ime there's a lot that doesn't show on photos and I would also want to approve the photos before a listing went live.

Don't be afraid to move thing out the way for the pictures and put all the lights/lamps on!

Take your own photos of the room, then look at them - I found that lots of things jumped out at me in the photo that I didn't notice in person eg clutter, wonky pictures, streaks on the shower screen.

Make the beds up so that they look really smooth and tidy - iron the duvet covers if you don’t usually, make sure curtains are hanging neatly.

Take towels off rails and radiators, take away bath mats, have a full roll of toilet roll on the holder and no dangly end, clear bathroom and shower shelves, put toilet seats down.

Yes, to putting lights on if it’s a dull day but make sure they are not in the photo else it’s obvious that’s what you’ve done.

Tuck away and tidy wiring from TV etc. Tidy cushions.

Don’t forget to tidy the garden.

Clean!
