Belfast sink type? You can get stainless steel and one of those mixer taps with a spray you pull out.

Try googling under “catering sink” or pot wash sink. There are lots of stainless steel ones.

I’ve got one but it seems to splash water everywhere. Maybe taps are too high above it.

SpoonBlender · 07/10/2018 07:39

Nearly Get a tap/attachment with an aerator, that reduces splashing dramatically even from a long drop.

OP, Belfast sink is your search term of choice, they come in any sizes from large up. Fit it with a tap that has a hose.

Alternatively, would a small shower tray be practical? A small tray is far larger than your average sink.

Google "Utility Sink"

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 18/10/2018 16:14

Thanks @SpoonBlender - I’ll get one of those :)

We've done this. The tap extends. Excuse mess but I just plonked the dog in it 😂. It's so much easier than a bath

Not my house - found on the web.

A friend has a dog shower in their utility that’s just like the one above with a waist height door to keep the dog in whilst being washed.

shoofly · 18/10/2018 18:54

My mum had a half Belfast sink in her garage at mid calf height. Small dogs could hop in for a wash and she sat on her garden chair to scrub them. Would also soak her feet in it, after a days gardening.

You can get extra deep Belfast sinks such as this one. The bowl is 295mm deep. www.sinks-taps.com/shop/shaws-whitehall-deep-bowl-belfast-kitchen-sink.html

Alternatively, if it's fitted in a utility room or the likes and as someone else mentioned, why not consider a commercial sink. This one comes complete with stainless steel stand and drainer for about the same price as many retail sinks.

I have seen people build dog showers too, just a deep shower tray with a shower mixer on the wall. It wasn't quite as fancy as the one pictured above but does the job. Maybe there is a market for dog washing sinks if there are any sink manufacturers looking in . :)

Unless your dog is very small,a sink isn’t great.
I have this- it’s a Japanese soaking tub

I’ve found they’ll always try to get out of a shower. This bath keeps them in!

Thanks all - I did look at commercial dog grooming baths but they were expensive, large and unsightly. We have only small dogs (schnauzers) so easier to pick up into a sink than bend down to in a shower or bath. The commercial sinks tho - would have been ideal - but I have since found a huge single bowl s/s sink which I can drop into the work top and I am attaching a hand shower attachment on the side - like at the hairdressers!!!
