Anyone done this? Is it even doable? We have a chimney in bedroom so thought it may cut installation costs.

Only reason not to is the heat it would give off.

We have one in living room and it heats most of the house , doesn’t emit clouds of smoke (unless you open the door once you’ve just lit it... just don’t!) and only needs to be emptied once every 2-3 weeks. No need for carbon monoxide alarm although we have one in the kitchen for the gas boiler. Glass clean every couple of days.

Had it a few years and absolutely no issues. It’s lovely and cosy and saves a fortune on energy bills.
If your upstairs room is big it might be worth doing.

They do origami but would be no good if you lived rurally enough to lose power for days (weeks) which was the reason we put one in.
