Any idea how long?

We've heard from the solicitor that our enquires are back (FTB) and we signed the mortgage deed! How long until we get the contract and we exchange? We are in a chain of 3 people

Literally how long is a piece of string - you should ask your solicitor for their estimate as everything transaction and every chain is different. It will also depend whether your search results have been received?

Around 6 weeks is the quickest I've seen it pushed through, for people in a hurry and chasing every step of the way, but anything beyond that is possible. Depends if any of the searches, on any of the houses in the chain, raise any issues and how quickly everyone else completes their paperwork. I've also known people go off on holiday half way through the process delaying everyone.

We got the searches back on Monday with no issues! I think it's one of those waiting games then :(
