Any builders out there ?

Just finished a loft conversion and the builder has told me that the ceiling joist has bowed which is above a door way which means the door frame looks uneven but apparently it is the ceiling. He says its no big deal these things happen. Is that correct ?

Any advice would be great as I don't have a clue !

Use a spirit level on the door frame and ceiling to check which has moved.
If the ceiling joist has moved as a result of the attic conversion works (ie - it wasn't deflected previously) then it's not normal and suggests that joists are undersized/overloaded.
The joists could have been deflected before but that should have been picked up by your designer or structural engineer.
I would suggest getting the engineer to take a look before paying the final payment to contractor
