Tile trims....what to choose? Is PVC ok?

We have chosen these www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/linear-tiles-white-matt-linear-tiles for our en suite with a marbley tile for the floor. Planning on a dark paint for the walls.
Went to topps tiles for trims today and came out with a Matt and flat-edged medium grey pvc trim which I think would look okay as we're planning on a medium grey grout.
My question is has anyone used these pvc trims before and do they stand the test of time/cleaning, etc?

Do you need trim? When I had my bathroom done I had the tiler just sort of slope the grout at the top and we painted it the same colour as the walls. Much more clean look than trim imo, I think it can look a bit dated.

Does that work if the edges of the tiles are that biscuity colour? I would probably prefer that to be honest...but the builder asked us to get some trims, so I didn't question it! Don't suppose you could please post a pic could you?!

The tiler should mitre as much as possible but I prefer trim if not as it is easier to keep clean as grout is porous so woulsn't want it unprotected on top of a tile. Only metal though. You can get painted metal if needs be. We have a white painted one in one of our bathrooms

I certainly prefer the metal ones. My expectation is that sooner or later a plastic one will be cracked when someone bangs into it. They are cemented under the tiles so not really replaceable.

Tilers seem to like the brushed silvery one, but I prefer white or toning colours.

No. Get metal ones.

Thanks all - we'll return the pvc and get metal instead. I did wonder after we had got them whether it was a wise idea!

Yes! pigletjohn our tiler LOVES the really shiny silver ones. I cant let him loose at the tiling shop. He has grudgingly admitted that the white painted metal one looks nicer with our white metro tiles so maybe turning though
