Hi, Planning to relocating to Uk with 2 kids aged 3 and 5. Only husband will be working in the beginning with around 60K yearly. Can you suggest which areas we should be looking at, where cost of living is not so expensive with a safe environment and best school areas for kids. Will be planning on renting a 3 bedroom in the beginning but eventually planning to buy. thanks

Have you visited the UK before? Any areas you particularly liked? Do you prefer rural or urban? Will your husband be working from home?

You could rent a 3 bedroom house on that salary in much of the UK, but you'd struggle in London and many areas in south.

Would prefer rural areas. Not sure where husband will be working yet, but would prefer to know which areas we should consider before. We've been to uk a lot of times but mostly stayed in london or Kent, however not looking into those places as i know they are very expensive. We were thinking about leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham. But open to any other suggestions.

Newcastle? It’s a lot cheaper than the south east and close to the countryside and coast.

Consider Huddersfield
It’s close to countryside and also you can commute to both Leeds and Manchester for work.
Like all towns there are good and bad bits but there are some really nice villages here and as I say it’s easy to get to a lot of other places as well
