Does vendor negotiate if multiple offers?

Hello, we've put in an offer on a house (!!!) but not sure what to expect now. The house had 19 viewings yesterday and is lovely so I expect there will be multiple offers. If someone has offered higher than us, will the seller usually just take that? Or will we get a chance to up our offer?

Depends what they decide to do. If multiple offers are received the agent may suggest everyone interested puts in their final best bid and they will choose from there. This usually includes the position of the buyers as well i.e. if they are cash buyers, need a mortgage, have anything to sell etc.
