Need new carpets any suggestions?

We've moved into our first house and I'm looking for some advice on where to get carpets. We've looked in the big chains but I'd like to know peoples experiences on how the carpets have lasted etc.

We don't mind where we get them as long as they last! We are carpeting the stairs, hallway, and 3 bedrooms for now.

Any advice on where to get them?

We got carpets from Tapi last year and I can really recommend hem - they still look good, and the service was great.

We use a local company. Prices are similar to carpet right, quality and service are better.

Don’t buy real wool ones, unless you want to be fighting moth infestations for years and sousing your home in toxic insecticides!
Carpet moths have had a population explosion recently.

Avoid carpetrite like the plague. Scrappy fitting, grumpy staff. Poor finish. Avoid avoid avoid. Now I use local traders and explain exactly what I expect. Much easier to negotiate price too.

Another vote for local carpet shops. The independent fitter, who fitted our carpets, said large chains have examples of thicker carpets, but supply lower quality ones in the same range.

Carpet right is OK if you don't go for their fitting and if shop around as they hike prices then lower them with artificial sales.

You could look in all the chains to choose the carpet and then source the one you like online.

Either way find a good reliable fitter with good reviews to fit the carpet.

Thank you everyone! We are going to have a look at a local shop today
