Internal Glass Sliding Doors - 240cm

I need to have glass doors on the entrance to our new dining room, which has been tagged onto the back of our house, so that the existing room isn't completely blocked of light.

I'd like to have a glass sliding door full height - so just under 240cm. I've seen normal sized sliding doors with a glass panel above to make up the height, but I'd prefer to have it all glass unless there is a reason not to.

Does anybody have internal glass doors that height and what has your experience been like?

We actually have two glass panels and one single door in the middle that leads into our ensuite bathroom. Part of the glass is opaque for modesty reasons. The sliding mechanisms are quite chunky for glass and we thought one door with stainless hinges and handle looked better. We love it and it has been insitu for 8 years now. We have about the same size of opening. Ion Glass may inspire you.

Thanks Bubbles. I've flipflopped between hinged and sliding, and spent every opportunity I've had to look at glass panels in offices, hotels and showrooms and get a bit of a feel for them. Decision day is looming though.

Hinged might be more practical but sliding takes up less space. And we also are planning a fixed panel of glass beside it so do we change things and go for double hinged doors instead.

At least it sounds like an overheight glass door is feasible.
