Any tips for loft conversion?

We’re in the final stages of planning our loft conversion to get two beds and a shower room for the kids. Just wondering if there are any recent loft converters with tips?
I’ve been reading the old threads but wanted to know if there was anything new we should be considering such as are modern loft conversion ok with standard insulation or should we look at upgrading that?

Double triple check all the measurements, or even better lay them out with tape on the floor- can you get round the bottom of the bed? Is there room to open the wardrobes? A Velux window on the stairs up to the loft conversion as well as in the room itself will make a huge difference to how the space feels. You'll probably end up with lots of funny little knooks and gaps, use these to incorporate built in furniture at the time of your build; it'll be cheaper that way and will mean you can use the space much more efficiently.
