How long to wait for countrywide survey results/mortgage offer

Hi! Applying for a mortgage through Nationwide, and we had our homebuyers survey by countrywide completed today on our hopeful house purchase. They rang up partner before to ask if anything in particular we’d like them to look at and include in report, but didn’t ring up after. Just wondering how long we’ll have to wait? Also, I’m self employed and still imagining them turning around and failing us on affordability- but after they’ve made us pay £350 for a survey that would be quite harsh wouldn’t it? So as long as valuation is okay is a mortgage offer likely? Thanks

Did you get mortgage offer in principal before the survey?

Bellatrix257 · 25/09/2018 07:26

Yes we got a mortgage in principle and are going through a broker

Ime Countrywide are pretty quick at turning these things around. The valuation survey (I take it they've done both?) is usually available very swiftly and that's what the mortgage company is interested in. You should have it by the end of the week. You can always ring the surveyor and ask.

The valuation survey is likely to be available today or tomorrow - I wasn't clear.

Have you returned the contract? Countrywide usually email you a form before they release the HBR that you just need to return to agree to their t&cs. It often goes into the spam folder so check there and return to them ASAP. If you haven’t had it give them or NBS as call and they will arrange to send another. Can take a few days for the report to be prepared though. It is likely the MVR and therefore mortgage offer will be ready before you have had the HBR.

Sorry, meant to say NBS have an approx 48 hour turnaround from receiving the MVR from countrywide to producing the offer, so you should get it tomorrow (all being well and providing that that was all that was outstanding)
