Mid-end/ upper mid furniture company suggestions, like Feather&Black and Loaf?

Any other suggestions besides these, also Swoon, made, west elm, cotswold? Any experiences of them all? I'm particularly after a new bed frame and a few other things and want ideas on other places to look. Not keen on Ikea, next etc.

Try And So To Bed. Lovely beds and bed frames, some amazing bargains to be had in their clearance sale too.

sofa.com have some nice upholstered beds. I've not seen the beds in person, but I have an armchair from them that is great quality and really comfy. Looks great too!

Another vote for sofa.com. I went to a Loaf showroom recently and found most of their sofas were quite uncomfortable. I also had a look at their reviews on trustpilot and there were a lot of complaints about the quality of their bedframes and poor customer service....

Will look at sofa.com - I'm not sure about an upholstered bed as doesn't it get all dusty??! Also worried about then matching the colour of the upholstery to eg curtains. So was thinking a white wooden one might work best.

This company do some lovely beds.

Also, this company - I was very hesitant at first given the dreadful name but we have had two beds from them and they are absolutely solid and we are really pleased with them. They are unfortunately not as cheap as they sound!

Cotswold is fine, we have quite a lot in our house, we also have a lot of mango wood furniture from a local importer. The higher end Argos stuff is fine for kids rooms - I refuse flat pack as I hate assembling and dh is too busy

Picklesandpies · 24/09/2018 23:53

Yes, they do some beautiful beds - obviously not so much painted ones but contemporary wooden ones. We so nearly bought the Camden bed. The quality looks wonderful. We bought a white (it's a good off white, not stark) platform bed from GLB in the end as we wanted to have a lighter no headboard look and paired it with some bedside tables from Loaf (which I love.) I think by this point I had actually looped the internet and had exhausted all websites!

The White Company and Laura Ashley. Plus good old John Lewis!

Get Laid beds are great

We were very taken with the vintage G Plan furniture at John Lewis this past weekend. Lovely stuff.

SPARKS17 · 25/09/2018 08:37

Our current bed is from feather and black and our last one (which I still love) now in a spare room was from sweet pea & willow. I have bought a few things from Maison du monde and liked them, also a big fan of swoon we’ve bought sofas, chairs and chest of drawers from them. I would personally avoid Cotswold co, the styling and website looks great but we went to their showroom (ironically nowhere near the Cotswolds) and the quality was slightly better than ikea we didn’t get anything.

digitallyremastered · 25/09/2018 10:55

Yes got something from Swoon before and it's great quality.

This is all fab info - thank you!

I see Heal's mid season sale started today. Up to 40% off beds.

Ooh good tip about the sale at Heals

Not sure if they do beds but I love Maisons Du Monde. Don't be put off that they ship from France - we've bought a lot of furniture recently and that was one of the better experiences.

If you're on more of a budget have a look at La Redoute - we got a lovely sideboard from there.

I also like Cox and Cox and Graham and Green.

PickAChew · 26/09/2018 17:05

West elm is dirt cheap in the US, compared with here, and gets some dire reviews.

PickAChew · 26/09/2018 17:10

Barker & Stonehouse have some great stuff, btw.

digitallyremastered · 26/09/2018 18:48

Interesting re West Elm...I guess they're importing it all so hence it costs more but is not the quality to warrant higher prices. Will look at Barker - thank you,

West Elm is style over substance ime.
