Just curious Smile

How much did you pay for your quartz worktops and how many square meters? Did you have upstands and splashback?

Bumping bc I'm curious about this too

Matlow · 25/09/2018 16:02

Me too! Need to order asap. Want white (ish) like Silestone lagoon and have 2 quotes (£3800 and £3480) but have only budgeted £2500. Price includes templating and fitting. No splashback or upstands. 3000mm by 800 island and 1900 by 600 work top.
Where can I buy it? If I go for something other than Silestone will it be inferior? Any great experiences with companies near SE London?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

mum2015 · 25/09/2018 16:57

Following, as I would need quotes lot of worktop even though kitchen isn't that big.

Baxdream · 25/09/2018 18:00

I got mine from Topsco. They were fitted at Christmas and they are wonderful. I can't remember how much but I think £2500.. about 5 metres plus an island

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 25/09/2018 18:05

Not sure how many sq meters but I paid 2grand. I have no Splashbacks or upstanding. Pretty average sized kitchen no island. Cost me a fortune and significantly more expensive than laminate but I bloody love it!

bobkate · 25/09/2018 18:32

We are going to have a 3.2 sink run with upstand and windowsill, a 1.2m section and then an island 2.2 x 1.6. Ours is a white carrera and has cost £2900. I'm presuming silestone is probably a bit better but I had to make a choice and got too bamboozled by different companies, so went with a sample I liked ( I did see the full slab) and the best price I had at the time. I was quoted 3500, 4700 and 5200. So the prices vary somewhat between companies!

I’d love to see some pictures if anyone doesn’t mind sharing?

Looks fab Bax, love that light too!

sdaisy26 · 25/09/2018 19:35

Not square metres cos I’m not sure of that but I have a 3.2m run, 2.6m run which is wider as is a breakfast bar, 1.2m run in main kitchen & then a 2.2m run in utility. Plus upstands and a cill, 2 x sink cutouts, hob cutout and a couple of funny angles in places. It was just under £3k from Topsco, but quotes ranged from that to over double! It was expensive but I love it!

WidowTwonky · 25/09/2018 19:57

30mm thick silestone.
43sq ft with upstand along one side (2500mm) a sink, tap, hob cutout and pop up electric socket cutout, drainer grooves. Large integrity sink fitted

Similar figures then!
Mine is from a local company, nearly 6sqm for kitchen and utility room, with upstands, 2 splashbacks (sink and cooker) 2 sink cut outs and draining grooves £3450

PragmaticWench · 25/09/2018 22:08

Personally I would avoid draining grooves, they don't drain water at all, you need a tea towel laid down to soak up the water from draining crockery etc.

bobkate · 25/09/2018 22:13

I can't add pics yet as it's not anywhere near being fitted! bax always nice to see a pic of your lovely kitchen!

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2018 22:17

Approx 10m2 (including pieces for the pantry and utility room) for £2700. We used GMQ marble and had the Pure White quartz.

We paid £2.5k for 6m plus an island direct from Lunastone the manufacturer. They provide nationwide fitting. Got 4 other quotes and none came close to price. www.quartzworktopsdirect.com.

Wherever you buy from I'd recommend going to the shop to see a large slab. The tiny samples they send in the post are not at all representative of the large cut.

Worieddd · 25/09/2018 22:19

Wow some absolute bargains here!

Worieddd · 25/09/2018 22:27

roses2 did you get upstands and splashbacks?

The original cost of mine was £2.5K but I then wanted the upstands and splashbacks which increased the cost by quite a lot. Wasn’t sure how it would look with tiles but SorrelForbes kitchen looks great.

Templating is done and they are going in next week. I am actually slightly nervous Shock

Also I’d recommend going to your chosen supplier with evidence of your lowest quote and ask them to match it. We did this and got over 1k off

Sunnykaur2018 · 20/02/2019 14:10

Where did you buy yours from? As I’d like to get a quote from that company pls
