Glass or polycarbonate for veranda roof?

Hi all

We are about to have a veranda type thing built to cover decking on our house.

Builder suggested glass - has anyone had any other options ?

Could you have an awning, electrically operated?

Glass - much nicer, quieter when it rains than plastic, longer lasting over time. Get it coated to resist dirt, etc.

Glass! Plastic roofs are horrible.
