Rental break clause

If a landlord were to give the proper notice, say 2 months to end a tenancy at the break clause point, could a tenant move out before the end of the notice period and are they liable for the whole period's rent? Thanks!

Yes the tenant would be liable for the rent unless a different arrangement were agreed with the landlord. If you think about it, notice is being served to end the contract at the break date so the tenant was always going to liable for the rent and to expect to live in the house or flat up to that date.
