Hi all,

I got a quote from a solicitors for the sale of my property and purchase of next house. They said they would send me all the forms and paperwork through the post.

A week later - nothing. Chased, they apologised and said there was a back log. Another week on, still nothing.

Is this normal? Or shall I bin them?

Have you had absolutely nothing, no ts and cs and you haven't paid them for land registry docs? If so, yes I would go elsewhere.

I'm a solicitor - I'd bin them!

If they can't get things rolling right at the start, I can't imagine they'll be hugely proactive/quick throughout the process.

Our admin team are under strict instructions that "client packs" at the start of the process are to be sent in the post within 24 hours of us being instructed so that we get off on the right foot, to give you a comparison of timescale.

Yes I'd find another solicitor! You'll be chasing constantly - especially when you get to the stage where they can just blame the other side!
