Do you use your stable door?

Hi,

We are thinking of putting a stable door in as our new back door. It will be off the utility not the kitchen so not really a room we will use for long periods.
We live in a village so it's pretty safe and I thought it might be nice to have a stable door to create airflow for when we are drying clothes on our overhead laundry rack.
In-laws have the same arrangement stable door into utility and say they never use it.
Does anybody open just the top half of their stable door?

I don't have one but feel I would like one fit summer evenings when I worry about an animal scurrying in via our patio door !

I suppose it's not so different from opening a window really so if it is very expensive, just have a window that's easy to open.

My parents have a stable door as their front door and leave it open injot weather. I’m tempted to put one in in the utility room so I don’t have to go outside to use the bins!

We have a stable door in our kitchen as our back door. It goes out into a yard and tbh we tend to just open the door rather than the top bit. As it's quicker and I'm not sure it makes much difference in terms of heat loss. Good idea with young kids though.
