Too many windows

There's a house we like and are interested in buying. There's a kitchen extension with fairly large windows on 3 sides. It means that there are no wall units, no space for a tall fridge etc.
I don't think it needs that many windows. Could we brick one up? Is that easy? Do you need planning permission?

Yes it is easy and fairly cheap. We are bricking up 4 windows and turning a doorway into a window. It’s costing a few hundred pounds. Planning not needed, I think it’s only if you’re adding windows.

It'd need plastered and decorated too I suppose. But that's good to know that's it's pretty straight forward.
