Flueless fires

Does anyone have a flueless gas fire?
I’m interesred in getting one, but there’s a lot of negativity towards them dated from ten years ago. I understand that you need a vent and a big enough room, calculated all that and we are grand, but in 2018 with a properly fitted one should I be worried about carbon monoxide and the like? We would have it fitted properly, use a monitor and get it serviced.

Anyone had one?

I don’t have a flueless fire but I do have a flueless Esse gas cooker.
It’s in a big room with plenty of ventilation and we also have carbon monoxide monitors
If it’s serviced and you have the monitors then I don’t think it would be a problem

Because you need to ventilate out all the water vapour and CO2 it produces, I suspect there is not much heating benefit, more of an ornament.

They very seldom kill families and pets, but quite a lot of gasmen refuse to have anything to do with them.
