Landlord Insurance

Hi,

I privately rent and received a text from my landlord this morning advising he needs access with someone else during the week to get a quote for insurance.

I have never known anyone to have a house visit for insurance quotes but was wondering is this something specific for landlord insurance.

To be best of my knowledge there has been no insurance up to now, very casual landlord, no contracts or deposit.

Anyway, my question is do you believe this, or as I think, do you think he is trying to sell

I'm a LL & have never required access to the property in order to arrange home insurance. It's organised over the phone with my provider.

Couldn't comment on what's going on with your LL though.

I've been a LL in the past and always arranged insurance over the telephone at a distance of a few hundred miles so in my experience, visiting the property is not necessary for LL insurance.

Is he making a claim, rather than arranging a quote?

Nothing to make a claim for, and like I said to my knowledge there has never been insurance on the property.

Not a LL insurance but have known the insurance company to visit my parents ( specialist )property in the past to provide a quote
