Would it be possible to fix the lights in this electric fire?

It has little fake flames that glow when switched on. The heat can be switched off and just have the flames on which gives a lovely glow in the room with all the other lights off. There was a little pop one day and the flames just went off and no longer work. The heat works fine. I’m wondering if it’s possible to fix the flames. Does anyone know? Before I start taking the heater apart and find out I can’t fix it Grin

Can you find a name/model on it anywhere?
Then you could Google for the user manual and establish what parts you need.
I'm sure it will be possible once you know what it is you need.
Probably just a bulb.

LIZS · 07/09/2018 17:02

Has the bulb gone? Ours is in a case you unscrew behind. Iirc they are light fridge bulbs.

AdaColeman · 07/09/2018 17:09

Yes, probably just the bulb blown, have a look at it for a little cover/door like the cover for a battery cavity, possibly held in place by a screw or may just slide out.
Unplug the fire before you poke it about! Smile

Yes, as others have said it's probably the bulb, although I have an LED electric fire where the bulb or whatever has yet to go, so I'm not sure what the heck it is.

I like your fire btw, I'm after one like then for my new theme when I move Smile

Ps, I see you have some nice hearth tiles, is your mantel and surround light coloured too? nosey me

Woohoo!

You’re all fab! That was so much easier than I expected it to be. There was indeed a screw odd panel on the back and it was just a normal screw in candle bulb which I have in the house. So I now have flames again!

vitalogy the label on the back says “limitless electrical” and it was around £75 from an amazon shop. And unfortunately my lovely tiles are actually horrible vinyl which grabs all the dirt it can and clings onto it. The fire is in my kitchen so no mantle or surround.

Glad you got the flame back on again. I never use the heat either but the flame effect is so cosy in the Winter. Smile

Thanks for info btw.
