Where to get EPC from?

Looks like we need one. The old one is no longer valid. Where to get it from? I googled and a lot of companies came up. Do I just pick one or will the "quality" massively vary?

If you are selling your EA will be able to arrange one for you. Costs circa £100 + VAT.

I just googled and got one from EPC online. Costs depend on size on your house. They come round for all of ten minutes then email you the EPC. Not sure if there’s any quality aspect between them, an EPC is bog standard

Much cheaper to organise yourself. I emailed a few people (many are self employed and do this part time), asked prices and availability and went from there. I used the following website: www.epcregister.com

I used epcregister.com to identify a few local providers and went for the cheapest one. There really isn't any difference - an EPC is an EPC. Don't go with the one your EA recommends as you will almost certainly be paying over the odds and/or commission.

I paid £40 incl vat for a 3 bed house if that helps for comparison. The EA wanted £80.
