We are exchanging on Friday. I had a quote from a movingg company who gave me provisional dates of availability conveyancers now emailed me to say completion is happening on 14th a date my movers cant do. I have booked another company which is charging 45 per hour the other company had fixed price 495. Does this sound ok. Is it right the completion date has been agreed without checking with us ?

Depending on how long the journey is, between your current home and the new one, then the new moving company sounds cheaper. They are unlikely to take 11 hours to move you if it is a local move.

It's a long while since I moved, but, from memory, I though both parties would have to agree the completion date. In a longer chain I guess you have to be more accepting though.
