It's me again, pecking brains until this kitchen is sorted!! Grin

After much debate about whether integrated is best or not I am pro and dh is against but that's all now been dealt with I am after :

An integrated washing machine

Integrated dryer

Five burner gas hob (this has got to be silver not black)

Eye level ovens

Integrated dishwasher

Aaand a freestanding American style fridge freezer. Now here's the catch; does anyone have a BIG fridge which is less bulkier than an American?? And might even be the same depth as a standard kitchen cabinet? (600mm) We have looked at sub zeros and they are out of our league price wise.

So. If any of you lovely lot have any fab reccomendations to make of the above stuff pleeeeease help me out. Ta very much!

Eeeks I’m actually quite excited about them now!! I didn’t even know they did steam ovens Blush we moved into our house and it’s got the original kitchen from 1980 I think so you can imagine our oven!!

We got lucky as we found the hob we wanted being sold by a showroom and when we collected it, it turned out they were closing down so we also brought their ovens too. We got really good deals, it’s definitly worth asking around showrooms etc to see if there are any ex display items. Ours are perfect condition - you wouldn’t know it was technically “second hand”.

This is our steam oven www.siemens-home.bsh-group.com/uk/productlist/CS656GBS1B

We have a second oven which is bigger but has microwave and grill functions too.

nutellaontoastgirl · 05/09/2018 08:50

@SwedishEdith I'm not sure what the measurements are. Will find out today!

The ovens look amazing, one. I've been looking at neff's double oven , but are two seperate single ovens better ? Can you stack them on top of each other ?

nutellaontoastgirl · 05/09/2018 08:53

@Newkitchenideas1 will keep my eye out , you got a fab deal!

Newkitchenideas1 · 05/09/2018 08:57

This was ours in the showroom. Both singles and stacked on top of each other so yes you could get two singles. I am not sure on the benefit of it? You may have a better range of choice with singles in terms of be functions?

when you buy the appliances. go through the boots Quidco page. you will get cash back plus loads of boots points.
I ended up with about £150 worth of boots points buying a fridge freezer and cooker this way.

onewayoflife · 05/09/2018 12:16

Ours are stacked on top of each other exactly like in the pic Newkitchenideas1 posted.

With a double oven the top one is generally quite small. Quite often I'll cook a roast and then also be cooking a cake or dessert at the same time which wouldn't fit in the small bit of a double oven. Or at Christmas and other times when we have all the family round both ovens will be completely full so we'd have struggled with basically 1.5 x single ovens.

But it completely depends how much you cook, and what you're cooking as to whether it would be useful having two full sized ovens rather than a double one.

Also I'm really lazy and our oven tells you when it needs cleaning. And because we have 2 of them we can just ignore it and use the other one instead (well until that one says it needs cleaning as well). Which is silly really because all you need to do to clean it is take the shelves out and press a button so it's not difficult.

Oh and as new pointed out there's more scope to pick and choose functions with two separates. We absolutely wanted a steam oven and I don't think you can get double ovens where the main one is steam.

Newkitchenideas1 · 05/09/2018 12:56

Am off to check if mine has a self clean option Grin

sickmumma · 05/09/2018 13:02

The slide and hide oven is fab! We had it at the old house and it was great for eye level as the door slides underneath so it is out the way and not sticking out when you are taking items out! Also cooked things perfectly! We also had a matching hob again induction which I have brought with me, we currently have gas and the induction
Is so much quicker, easier and safer with DC around! I feel really nervous them cooking on the gas! I know you can get induction with one big gas in the middle which are meant to be good if you love gas.

sickmumma · 05/09/2018 13:04

The neff oven also
Cleans itself... 😍

Newkitchenideas1 · 05/09/2018 17:59

My Siemens ovens have eco clean which seems the same Grin thank goodness!!!

We went for the Bora induction hob - first time having induction, need to do some research into pots and pans - do you have any suggestions sickmumma ?

onewayoflife · 05/09/2018 18:49

We have a brilliant set of stellar stainless steel pans that we have had for years and are as good as new, and luckily they work on our induction hob. They are great and can go in our dishwasher which is the most important thing.

nutellaontoastgirl · 05/09/2018 19:26

I am sticking to gas - I make chappaties and induction can't puff them up ! Plus I love the look of a gas flame ... just makes me feel cosy and at home Smile

Will check the pans out tho, in the market for some new ones Wink

It took ages to convince me that food still tastes nice if it's not cooked on a gas hob! I do love gas so don't blame you really.

Have you decided who is doing the kitchen yet? Cos getting our appliances direct from the kitchen company saved us a fortune. I found our appliance invoice yesterday and it was £2500 for the fridge (Bosch), freezer (Bosch), two ovens, induction hob (neff) and extractor (neff). I looked up everything online and buying separately would have cost over 5k so if you have a company that has some sort of account/arrangement with the appliance suppliers it might be cheaper to get them all that way.

Newkitchenideas1 · 05/09/2018 20:52

What kitchen company did you use onewayoflife? We have had a design by Wren but wasn’t keen now one by a local designer but it very expensive!

nutellaontoastgirl · 05/09/2018 21:07

Oneway that is a brilliant price. Which company did you use if you don't mind me asking ?

OP posts:
nutellaontoastgirl · 05/09/2018 21:11

I think we're going with a local kitchen company in Stockport as they're cabinets seem good quality and we're getting it at a good price as close friend of dh's.

OP posts:
onewayoflife · 05/09/2018 21:28

It sounds like you're really getting everything sorted now! Yay!

It was a local independent place called iHome interiors based in Buckinghamshire (Marlow). If anyone else is looking for a new kitchen near there I'd definitely recommend them!

Worieddd · 05/09/2018 22:27

Nutella I’ve also bought a neff gas hob as I do a lot of Indian cooking! My kitchen however doesn’t go in for another 2 weeks so can’t give you the low down on it!

I know you wanted less bulky but we’ve also bought this fridge freezer www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/refrigeration/fridge-freezers/kenwood-ksbsx17-american-style-fridge-freezer-inox-10156620-pdt.html it’s actually a Which Best Buy and quite cheap compared to other American style fridge freezers!

Newkitchenideas1 · 06/09/2018 08:06

What kitchen cabinets are you going for Nutella? We are going for Matt handleless although my dp really wants Shaker but I’m not sure.
Our kitchen price is coming in at £18k exc appliances, just seems like such a massive amount.
Wonder if we should be looking at alternatives.
We are West Sussex so not a millions miles from you oneway but probably too far to use your company! I might have another look around here before we decide.

onewayoflife · 06/09/2018 08:48

What are you getting for that @Newkitchenideas1? And how big is your kitchen?

Ours was 12k including all appliances but not including fitting or any building, plumbing or electrical work.

nutellaontoastgirl · 06/09/2018 08:54

@Worieddd ahhh sounds good though! Do let me know how you get on regardless although we will have bought our appliances by then I'm sure. Which hob did you go for out of interest? I'm also looking at neff hobs but don't know if the markup in price is worth it; some cheaper brands seem to do identical copies of the neff one I'm looking at.

@Newkitchenideas1 that is quite expensive ! I'm going for a shaker style door, ours is a 42 cabinet kitchen and just the cabinets are coming in at 5k.

OP posts:
nutellaontoastgirl · 06/09/2018 08:56

I should add though, we're getting a good deal due to the fact that dh knows the owner! As I don't think anyone would do a kitchen this size for 5k!

OP posts:
Newkitchenideas1 · 06/09/2018 08:58

I have attached some pics of the plans. The back wall where are kitchen is going is just under 4 metres and then we have the island. It seems a lot to me but they do manufacture the doors themselves and they are painted by them etc there is £2300 ish of fitting that’s included in that price. The original price was £27k inc appliances Shock
That doesn’t include plumbing electrics lights

Newkitchenideas1 · 06/09/2018 09:01

Wow that’s a very good deal, how big is your kitchen Nutella?

Our extension is up to damp course now and we were trying to measure it all out last night and it suddenly seems smaller than we anticipated and that has added to my worrying about what what we can fit in etc

Worieddd · 06/09/2018 09:22

We got this Neff hob: www.wickes.co.uk/NEFF-60cm-4-Burner-Gas-Stainless-Steel-Hob-T26DA49N0-SS/p/157600?CAWELAID=120135120001241661&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=55653181635&CATCI=pla-460988493114&gclid=CjwKCAjwoMPcBRAWEiwAiAqZh1QLIG_lhh7thfQwnm5FEc2IPvbF_jIZflT303LTbjXZZ3TJafIoMhoCzUcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CN_Qusz4pd0CFZQj0wodHCkF_Q which I thought was a fair price. I wanted a neff oven and wanted them both to match.

As an aside I think we’ve done quite well buying our appliances and kitchen. We have got a Tewkesbury Skye from howdens which is one of their better ranges - solid door on quite a large kitchen and utility room with neff hob and Bosch dishwasher (that lights up!) for £6.1K.

Howdens couldn’t price the other appliances I wanted so I’ve bought the the American fridge freezer, neff hide and slide oven, extractor fan for £1300. Just have sinks and taps to buy now!

If you buy from currys there is a promo code on at the moment 10% off large appliances it’s voucher code LKA10A
