The shared drain in our front garden has collapsed. It happened in May and we had sewage flooding the back garden.
It took Thames a month to establish the cause (collapsed drain) because of bad weather and the engineers being busy. Now we are waiting for them to finalise the negotiations with our council to fix it. We are beside a busy road which will have to be closed while it's being fixed.
The drain has to be pumped out every day. Trying to get information from Thames is frustrating to say the least. Every time we phone we have to speak to someone new who has no idea what's going on (although we are supposed to have a case worker).
We have no idea when it will be fixed and I'm worried that the damaged drain might be causing structural problems to the house.
Added to that the pump out team once came at 2am! They were making a right racket in the front garden, laughing and chatting. When I looked out the window one of them was peeing into the drain. I know it was IN the drain and not in the garden and when you have to go you have to go, but it seemed so disrespectful. Especially at that time in the morning and the fact that his buddy was laughing while he was peeing made me think it's not something they usually do.
Not sure if we are being too nice about it and if it's out of our and Thames control but 4 months with no news of the work should we be kicking up more of a fuss? Anyone had any experience with Thames or any other water company for this sort of thing?
Thank you :)
