So basically we put an offer on a house and it was accepted....fast forward to local searches. They was done and came back saying needed few extra searches needed to be done. Paid for those. So basically once theyre back how much longer will it be till signing of contracts?

So far we're about 6 weeks after the searches came back and we're still waiting to exchange. Seems to be for us the seller isn't answering any queries.
We were told we should be able to complete within 2 weeks of the searches being back but that hasn't happened.

The estate agents are on the solicitors back to hurry this up as they are waiting to move. Im going to call them up today as how mych do you want to bet they'll say completion will be when we're away.

The estate agents have been on to me too. The vendors wanted to complete at the beginning of August but all of the hold up has been them.

Generally from offer to completion takes a minimum of 8 weeks but more often 3-4 months. Just keep chasing to make sure your solicitiors are doing their job and make sure they have everything from you they need such as your mortgage offer.

The search results and forms the sellers fill in generate enquiries which your solicitor them puts to the sellers' solicitor. If there is anything else specific to the property, you can flag that for your solicitor to ask too. Has your solicitor made any enquiries yet?

I've called the solicitor and they said it's looking at next week for a date. All searches and enquiries have been done and just waiting on my lender now

Well that sounds promising - you can tell the EA that and see if you can agree rough exchange and completion dates.

My lender said she'll try and rush it all her end for us.
