Restoration hallway

Hi has anyone restored a tiled floor? Some buffoon cemented over a perfectly intact Edwardian hallway. Just had an eye watering quote for someone to do it (remove cement, clean, seal). Just wondered if anyone had tips as I'm thinking I might give it a try myself to save money.

Check out strippers of sudbury and Google the period property forum. There should be some good advice on there. I am currently trying to chip screed off of a lovely tiled victorian hearth! So far it is very slow. I have gone for a chisel and hammer.
