Landlord insurance?

Does anyone have an insurer they like? We are getting legal and rent cover for our flat which we are renting and we've gotten a few quotes from the bigger insurers. But like anything it's hard to know. Any landlords on here have an insurer they like? We don't need buildings due to it being a flat in a converted house and the freehold has specialised building insurance.

things I've learnt:

make sure you have malicious damage cover to include your tenants. As legal occupiers they are not included in normal vandalism cover.

find out what criteria are needed for legal and rent guarantee cover. Phone the insurer and check the call is recorded, or get it in writing. You need protection against the 'evict for a council house' brigade (and it can happen to anyone) - all the competent eviction lawyers charge the same on top of the ever-escalating fees. Check the excess and how long before rent guarantee kicks in, and again make sure your particular tenants are covered. This will mean you need to be selective.

include landlord contents, home emergency cover, alternative accommodation if the place is uninhabitable.

most insurers don't cover illegal activity, so better hope you don't get a grow.
