Can I make pencil pleat into cartridge pleat curtains?

Hello,

This is a rather specific enquiry, but I bought pencil pleat curtains online and haven't put them up yet. They came with the tape attached and were sold as pencil pleat. I am wondering if there is a way to change them so they are more cartridge pleat style?

Not without changing the header tape to cartridge pleat tape - there are some other complications too and you need twice the width of the window in fabric so if the curtains you have bought are only 1.5 times the width (possible, most pencil pleat ones are twice the width) there won't be enough fabric.

What do you mean by catridge pleat, have you a photo? Depending on how much you want to do yourself, you can unpick the header tape and replace with cartridge pleat tape or put in buckram and stitch your own pleats. Or get someone who does curtains to do it.

Hmm ok, no easy way then. I'll see if I can return them or tolerate pencil pleats
