Key cutting

I've just dropped into Timpsons and asked them how much to cut 4 keys. He quoted me 27.50 and I thought that's a bit expensive. The keys are house key, garage key, communal entrance key and bolt key (which I was expecting to be a bit dearer). Does anyone know a cheaper place to get key cutting done, maybe a hardware store or supermarket?

A local ironmongers offering key cutting with often be cheaper or a locksmiths with shop/trade premises. If you get two of the same key cut at once in Timpsons it's cheaper than getting two separately.

Asda ms near us have a key cutting machine now. Not sure on the price but always worth a look. Timpsons are robbers, they charged me £10 for two normal standard keys and i still had to go back as one didn't work!! X
