Selling /buying what to focus on first

We are about to put our flat on the market - week of painting and clearing next week to make it ready. Is there any point looking for our next house now or should we wait until we have an offer on our flat? I'm in north London and the market is very flat at the moment but we couldn't rent as it would cost too much.

We’ve always secured a buyer first before any serious viewing. This avoids falling in love with a property and not being able to proceed.
Use the time to look on the internet and thoroughly research areas and selling prices. Then you’ll have a good idea what to focus on and be able to act quickly. We’ve also rented between houses in order to wait for the right property.
