Going on the market - when to have open day?

We are going on the market in the first week of September. We are de cluttering etc at the moment and Im doing mini-rehearsals getting the house ready for viewings at short notice. With 2 small children, I now realise I will go mad with stress and burn out very quickly. Are open days a good idea? I like the sense of control it gives me. Get the house ready by 11 am on a Saturday and just go out ! Sounds much more doable than random viewings.

When is a good time for opendays? Assuming we go on the market on 3rd September, is 15th sept too late to host the first open day?

(We have a wedding to attend on 8th Sep)

Wouldn't the estate agent be hosting the open day? So could do one on 8th even if you are away?

I think there will be lots in early September. 15 th seems good to me and not everyone has kids.

Get the agent to do the viewings and just go out.

Yep, the agent will do the viewings
