Hi there.
I'll be starting my new job in Orpington. I've been in west norwood for 10 years but now it's time to make a bigger step and buy my first house.
My budget is 280 (quiet low) and I'm looking for a 3 bedroom house. Does anyone have any suggestion for places?
I've looked at greenhithe and northfleet which seems a short drive to orpington which is great but quiet a long journey on public transport. I've started to look at Croydon areas (Upper Wallingham). Any suggestions?

Swanley has some reasonably priced houses, worth having a look on Rightmove. Very close to Orpers.

From Greenhithe/Northfleet you are st the mercy of the M25. I'd look to move closer - Swanley, as mentioned or even the Crays - St Mary's Cray or St Paul's Cray. Won't be like living in Norwood though but unfortunately your budget is tight. We know someone that commutes from Maidstone to Orpington (driving).

Thank you MrsPatmore and Rebecca36. I've read some reviews about swanley and they are not quite reassuring. Houses in gravesend, northfleet and greenhithe are definitely spacious and the area seems to be fine. Do you know gravesend area? Are there any parts to avoid? It looks that th houses are great value for money. I'm only thinking about locating every morning to orpington. Do you know how long it should take on driving?

Thanks
