Hi all!

Moving to the UK from the US and wondering about the Caversham area. Is anyone familiar? I have a 1 year old and just want to make sure we live in a safe area as I am sure we all do! We are looking at renting a house on Oakley Rd. Thanks!

Caversham is considered a nice area and ideal for a young family. Oakley road is a well regarded residential area. The great thing about Caversham is you are close to the Thames and south Oxfordshire countryside but minutes away from Reading town centre and station which gets you into London in around 45 minutes. Also close by are lovely market towns like Henley on Thames, Wallingford and Marlow and Oxford is only about 45 minutes away.

Reading itself is a vibrant town with the Thames running through and excellent shopping and cafe culture. All in all a great location and only half an hour to Heathrow and Windsor.

You're welcome. There are also excellent schools and nurseries in Caversham, I think you will find it a good place to live - safe and very family-oriented.
