I’m useless at seeing potential and am sure I’ve missed loads of houses!

Could this be extended and made to a 3/4 bed?

We're just moving this over to the property board.

You would be better posting in DIY or property rather than the fashion section.

Could you make the sinning room a 3rd bedroom and make the enteranve to the kitchen through the living room and maybe extend the kitchen or a good old loft conversion?

Ohhgreat · 17/08/2018 21:30

Change current kitchen diner to be kitchen diner living room. Then use living room as third bedroom.
Anything else is going to be expensive as would likely involve moving the bathroom or an extension....

The roof looks like it could be converted but the chimney stacks might cause issues/cut down on usable space.
Are there any neighbouring properties which have extended or have loft conversions done? Could give you some ideas.
Other option as above us to turn dining room into 3rd bedroom and do a single story extension to the side of the kitchen where the drive is, however look for manhole covers as this again could cause some issues/extra expense if there are drains that need moving under the drive.

As PP said, make the kitchen into a kitchen / diner and use the existing dining room as a separate but open plan living area. Possibly install bifold doors if you want to be able to split the living area from the kitchen; but I can’t tell from the pictures how easy that would be.

Yes easily depending on your budget. Side extension, loft conversion, rear extension or rearrange layout would all be possible

titchy · 17/08/2018 22:01

Yep easy. Dining room becomes bed 3. Cost zero. Convert loft - possibly get two beds and small bath up there. But would cost.

We bought a 3 / 4 bed bungalow intending to renovate, convert the attic and extend, however it turns out it will be more efficient and economical to rebuild the while thing. However if your core structure is sound and especially if you have good loft space then totally possible.

Since the area is not an expensive one, it may be cheaper to buy a larger house than try to extend a small one.
