Check out the "entitled to" calculator, you can probably get housing benefit (or universal credit if its switched in your area now).

Hi OP, I'm sorry you're in such a difficult position.

You've said you're on maternity leave. What help you're entitled to will depend on how many hours you work.

Do you receive child maintenance from the baby's father?

The best thing you can do is get an appointment with Citizens' Advice. They will know for definite what you're entitled to and how to go about claiming it.

Try to keep it in mind that if he is the sort of person to do this to you then better now than to waste even more of your life with him. That's easier said than done at this sort of time as I know only too well. But I am sure you will look back and realise it at some point. In the meantime, each day, try and allocate some time amongst the anger and despair to sort yourself out. As mentioned above, Citizen's Advice will at least be able to at least inform you of your entitlements. I am sure you know inside that things will get better at some point. Best of luck to you Adeline
