Pep talk needed

I'm having kitchen and dining room knocked through, windows altered and new kitchen fitted.

Kitchen company doing the lot start to finish. They're Overseeing it.

Second day in and I rang them as I was concerned window not quite in right place meaning range won't sit central between the two windows and look wrong.

Spoke to owner who talked to me like an inconvenience and was very off. Even tried to make out it was my fault !! Pointed out they were project managing it all so any mistakes are down to them.

What makes me cross is I've got to get stroppy. Not listen to his defensive rudeness. Where's the customer service. Is this normal ?

Reputable local company , not wren or equivalent.

How do I handle them ? Is it firm and no glimmer of friendliness ? First large project and day two I'm stressed. Foolishly I thought they'd say no worries I'll check it out tomorrow and sort it. I'm delusional aren't I ?

You need to get the guy on site ASAP. Is the builder subcontracted? What’s the next payment date? Hoping it hasn’t been the majority upfront!

I've not paid anything yet and I won't till I know it's right. All I want is for him to check it and redo if wrong. It's just the attitude. Defensive and grumpy.
I won't take any nonsense but I just hate the confrontation.

Has the building work started? Or is it still in planning?

Don’t shy away from confrontation. Just keep everything firm and polite. I’d also follow up your conversations with email, so they can’t say there’s a misunderstanding.

Most important thing is to ask the kitchen guy who your main point of contact is and what their plan is for overseeing the works and rectifying issues.

Hope it all gets sorted quickly for you

The building work is well underway. Wall gone and window altered. Follow up email is a good idea. Thank you.
He doesn't seem to listen properly to me. Point of contact is the owner and he has an assistant as well.
Just need to plough through it.
