Leaking shower? Dripping ceiling!

Hi all, small panic!

We've noticed a leak on our ceiling above the shower. We first noticed this around 3 weeks ago when we did a big clean and got the floor/cubicle pretty wet.

It hasn't come through the ceiling since, but when we unscrewed the piping panel we saw a damp spot that definitely gets bigger after a shower.

The shower is in the loft extension, and our ground floor cupboard under the stairs is transiently smelly so I'm worried about damp and mold.

I'd hugely appreciate any advice. My feeling is we should get a plumber to check pipes, whereas dh is advising wait and see. I feel too anxious for wait and see!!

Is the leak in the ceiling above the shower? Or in the room below the shower?

The room below the shower. There's a panel we removed so we can see the plaster behind the wall and a few pipes

Plumber if you don't feel like you can deal with it yourself.

A wait and see attitude will end very badly!

Sounds like your shower is leaking to me
*not an expert Grin

Seriously though, I'd get a plumber in I think.

Check all the seals and grout around the shower cubicle carefully. It might not be leaky pipes but gaps in the grout or silicon that are letting the water through. If it only gets worse after showering then I would suspect that as the culprit. Also that is something that you could possibly fix yourself.
