Plumbing Help

Anyone with any plumbing knowledge? Just wondering if there is a quick fix for this or whether I can gather more information to pass onto the plumber.

Just moved house. Bath has two separate taps (i.e. not a mixer). Cold tap only gives a trickle of water unless the hot tap is fully turned on, then it runs properly. Anyone any ideas? Google doesn't turn up any helpful results.

Maybe there is a shower pump..

Is there a cylinder? What colour?

Is there a loft tank? Or two? What size? How much higher than the bath tap?

Put your thumb over the spout of the bathroom basin hot tap. Can you stop the flow? Now the bathroom basin cold tap. Can you stop the flow?

Shower is a separate electric shower.

No cylinder.

Embarrassingly I don't about the loft tank as I am yet to buy a ladder, but I don't think there is one, as it was not mentioned by surveyor. Blush

I'm not at home at the moment so I can't try the thumb over the basin tap thing, but my instinct from the force of the flow would be to say no...
