A really big pinboard for teenager's photos + posters + drawings + cards

Putting this in Home Decoration too...

DD 14 likes to blu tak photos and cards all over her walls, which is trashing the paintwork.

I would like to make one whole wall (3m x 2m) a pinboard so that she could rearrange her displays easily with drawing pins. But how do you do this? Can you get white cork tiles (she doesn't want the wall to be that gingerish colour of normal cork)? Or cover the board with material somehow?

Any advice very welcome.

You can paint cork boards with emulsion to match the Wall but they're too thin (shallow) to hold a tack firmly. What about magnetic paint instead? Or try to find a thicker cork tile. My parents had a cork wall when I was young for all our art work but when I tried to do the same with cork tiles it didn't work because they were too thin. It's possible the wall behind my parents cork tiles was plaster board whereas the wall behind mine was plaster and brick.

You can get huge sheets of fibreboard I think it’s called (not mdf), screw them to the wall and then paint with emulsion the same colour as the wall. Cheap and effective.

Looks like this stuff but I just got it from somewhere like Homebase and it wasn’t called pin Board! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sundeala-Hobby-Board-Pinboard-Notice-Board-9mm-Sundeala-Hobbyboard-/172641855216

Many many years ago my father made us each a huge pin board from a full size 8x4 fibreboard sheet, he framed them with wood edging. Over time they were painted many different colours to match the room decor. At one point mine was sky blue and pale pink.
