What do you wish you had in your kitchen?

Planning a kitchen in a new build. Is there anything you wish had been put in your kitchen? We have a lot of space to play around with. I cook a lot so maybe a walk in larder thing?

Two single ovens
Ice dispenser
Two dishwashers
Walk in larder with lots of shelves (I have one, they’re ace)
Boiling water tap

things we have and like

Range with six burners and 2 ovens
Dishwasher with cutlery tray on top
Wide pan drawers
Separate utility room for washer, drier, Sheila Maid
two fridges
Wine fridge
Butler sinks x 2
Cupboard for chopping boards at the side of the range
Plate rack on a dresser next to dishwasher

Wish we had
2 dishwashers
A bigger freezer

Oh wish we had a big walk in pantry too, there wasn't room

Thank you pallisers - that's what I've been thinking.

pallisers · 13/07/2018 00:41

bobkate it will be a comfort to me knowing you may someday have a warming drawer although I will never :)

Pull out spice drawers (vertical). Manky, difficult to clean, in fact virtually impossible. Much prefer shallow drawer spice organisation.

I said this too but I think it bears repearing. Get a shallow narrow one where the spice jars can lie down face up.

More kickboard drawers. Got 2 after the kitchen thread on here & wish I'd got another-they're great!

We bought a water filter that feeds through our tap. A six step osmosis one.
Delicious drinking water all the time. I live in london- the tap water tastes horrible. Buying plastic bottled water is expensive and worse still it’s awful for our planet.
The system takes up a bit of space but I wouldn’t be without it now. People who try our water comment on it all the time!

It will pay for itself in 1.5years.

Not read through all comments but kitchens excite me so thought I would include my list:
Hot water tap
All drawers and maybe one pantry cupboard
Induction hob with knobs (had a range which I loved but it is a pain to clean)
Over at standing height x2
Double sink (in kitchen)
Plugs (on island if having one)
Lots of worktop space
A durable worktop (like concrete)
No stainless steel (marks so easily)
Wine fridge
2 x fridge/freezers
Dishwater

Think that's it - I am away to dream some more about kitchens Grin
