What do you wish you had in your kitchen?

Planning a kitchen in a new build. Is there anything you wish had been put in your kitchen? We have a lot of space to play around with. I cook a lot so maybe a walk in larder thing?

Carbonated water tap.

To add a little sparkle to my life

Somerville · 10/07/2018 21:14

Two dishwashers.

SealSong · 10/07/2018 21:16

Pull out larder, or even better a walk-in pantry. More drawers. Bigger fridge freezer. More cupboard space for vac, ironing board etc. Separate utility.

mrssunshinexxx · 10/07/2018 21:27

2 bins in a cupboard a recycling one and a household waste one

Verbena87 · 10/07/2018 21:29

Mrssunshine you are an actual genius!!!

An island with white quartz tops

And what everybody else said, obv

Breakfast bar with ample space to sit at, 6 burner hob, wine fridge, large farmhouse sink with no separation, barn doors to a sizeable pantry. I could go on...

Wagtail89 · 10/07/2018 21:33

We have 2 integrated 70/30 fridge freezers which is brilliant if you have the space and either have a big family or like to entertain.
I also love our range cooker.
Also like have deep pan drawers.
Utility room is also great to have.

bionicnemonic · 10/07/2018 21:34

Yes two dishwashers; a friend had this, saves unloading, one for dirty one for clean, alternating, just take the clean things out of one as you need them and put the used things in the ‘dirty’ one

Synecdoche · 10/07/2018 21:37

I would love a kitchen table!

elephantoverthehill · 10/07/2018 21:39

I would have, if space were not a problem, an IKEA wooden bench that has 3 bins under the lid.

Pebblespony · 10/07/2018 21:47

I'm loving all these ideas. So many things I'd never thought of but they make so much sense!

Deep drawers with sections to store Tupperware.
One of best things is a cupboard without shelf to store tall cereal packets.
A pantry type cupboard.
A cupboard to store toaster and kettle.
Little spot lights in my kick boards.
Extractor fan that is concealed in my hob.
Super quiet extractor fan.
Deep drawer to store all my baking utensils and flour etc.
Shelves in top cupboards that fold out and down on a hinge for access.

crazymumtothree · 10/07/2018 21:51

A breakfast bar! We've recently moved and I really just miss sitting with the back door open at the breakfast bar on the laptop. We also had a huge larder cupboard which was fab and also an induction hob - so much easier to clean that the raised gas one we have now! (Can you tell I miss the old house!)

If space wasn't an issue I would have a utility room for all my washing/ boot room and also a dog bath station type thing.

Terramirabilis · 10/07/2018 21:51

An appliance garage

What about a range. Are they good or a load of expensive faff?

I have a 4 oven electric range cooker with 7 gas burners. Bloody love it!

bluetrampolines · 10/07/2018 21:56

A hidden bin. Nice lighting. A comfy couple of seats.

butterfly56 · 10/07/2018 21:59

Definitely would have a walk in larder my sister had one just off her kitchen and was a brilliant useful space!! Smile

Fucksgiven · 10/07/2018 22:05

Two side by side eye level double ovens. Huge American fridge freezer. Dining table for 10. Boiling water tap and huge island with sink and big hob. Seperate utility/boot room with mop type sink for muddy stuff (also horsey)

imsorryiasked · 10/07/2018 22:17

We have a larder cupboard and I'm so glad we decided to go for it as we have limited kitchen cupboards. We only have a standard upright fridge freezer though and I really wish we could have squeezed in a bigger one as I struggle with the lack of very much freezer space.

RosieThorns · 10/07/2018 22:19

Low divide sink
Pull out spice racks next to cooker
Induction range cooker
Tap with pull out spray feature
Another yes for the pull out bin and recycling bin
Larder cupboard
Cupboard for tall bulky items in utility - ironing board, vacuum etc
Extractor fan that vents outside
Pan drawers

bastardkitty · 10/07/2018 22:21

David Ginola. It doesn't necessarily have to be the kitchen though.

Stinkbomb · 10/07/2018 22:22

Eye level double oven (electric oven)
Pan drawers
Pull out pantry cupboard
Fridge
Wine/drinks fridge
5 pan hob with a wok burner (gas hob)
