As we aren't bringing any furniture or electronics, what would you suggest, which option do you suggest? I've heard that its better to just get badics from ikea as furnished apartments cost more, others say its easier to find a furnished unit as most people are looking for unfurnished one. His employer offers shipping furniture from here or small lump sump money to buy it there. As we don't care about quality of furniture, we are okay with cheap or used furniture as far as its clean and functional.

Most rental places in the uk are unfurnished these days as it is difficult for landlords to get insurance for furnished properties so i suggest you speak to some estate agents in the area you are moving to and find out what is the norm in that area. You may find you do want to bring your current furniturecwith you.
