Has anyone found a shade of Grey paint that looks grey?

Few of the paints I've tested (such as Goose Down) are not true greys. It's a lightish blue :/

Pics would help if you can recommend anything you painted on internal walls, please.

French Grey from Little greene is very lilac, annoying!

MrsBlondie · 02/06/2018 21:56

Goode down in.my son's room and it's definitely grey in there?!

FannyWincham · 02/06/2018 22:10

Dulux Engraved Locket.

We had a nightmare finding a grey, but found in contrast that goose down does represent as a true grey in the room we're using it in. It only gets evening sun and everything else in the room is cream. When we put goose down next to white (opposite spare room, morning/most of the day sun) it took a more blue shade. I like it less in that room but not enough to care as it's a spare room.

I got one that looked like a nice grey when I tested it, however I came back to the house after the decorator had finished and the hallway looked a sort of mauve colour. I was gutted!

Vulgarlady · 02/06/2018 22:13

Shrouded lace by Val spar is a definite grey

I have chic shadow in my hall which has a mauve tint, someone actually asked if it was lilac! It looks true grey in certain light though.

redfragglebiker · 02/06/2018 22:18

Timeisslippingaway - how bizarre. It looks like a proper grey in our nursery. Everything else looked blue!!

ProudThrilledHappy · 02/06/2018 22:18

Ds has Wilko kitchen paint in “grey whisper” and it has no blue or purple tones, its a very pale grey and looks lovely. We were going for a moondust colour and it’s spot on
I can’t take a pic right now though as I’d wake him!

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 02/06/2018 22:20

F&B Cornforth White is a proper grey

Perfectly1mperfect · 02/06/2018 22:24

Dulux warm pewter is definitly grey. We have it in one bedroom with light grey carpet and white furniture and it looks great.

NevermindMyMind · 02/06/2018 22:34

Storm Cloud by Wilko and it was very good paint too, we did our stairs and it's quite hard wearing. I was very surprised when someone recommended their paint to me.

PurpleDaisies · 02/06/2018 22:35

Dulux engraved locket is a lovely pale grey.

Ammonite (F&B) is a proper grey on some of our walls and a bit more ‘stone’ on others. Love it though. Definitely hasn’t got any blue/lilac/green undertones.

Iloveantiques · 02/06/2018 23:10

Dulux dusted moss

pumpingRSI · 03/06/2018 07:25

Goose down - bluey, Polished Pebble - still bluey. Finally Pebble Shore - griege. All dulux and a variety of these around my house trying to get it right. Confused

Timeissliplingaway · 03/06/2018 18:45

Here is chic shadow in my house, looks so different to neversleepagain

neversleepagain love that wallpaper!

It does look different but I think it's to do with lighting. Love the wallpaper too!

Another vote for Dulux Chic Shadow

MismatchedPJs · 04/06/2018 12:17

Chic shadow was pinky in our house. I was going to say warm pewter (Dulux) but it's quite dark. Weirdly, in whiskysourpuss's pic it looks brown to me, though it doesn't at all to me IRL.

I'm starting to think there's no such a thing as a "pure" grey. It depends on what other things you have in the room and what the light's like.
