I'm recently divorced, currently live with my DD aged 7 in a three-room (two bedrooms and a living room) condo my xH left us. I have always hated the place: elevator noise, cold in winter, and this winter the ceiling began getting damp (wtf!!). Ever since the divorce, I have desperately wanted to move flats, even if that meant ending up somewhere smaller. Currently, I can afford to buy a nice two-room condo (two bedrooms and a kitchen, though large enough to be converted to a small open-space kitchen+living room) and have my xH buy me out of the current property.
BUT! As the day of the final decision draws nearer, I'm finding fewer and fewer faults with the current property. Suddenly everything seems fine, and the elevator noise doesn't bother me, and the cold winter seems to be sooo far away. Plus this property has everything we need for living, whereas there would be inevitable renovations in the new place (rewiring and painting mainly). And I also think, who knows, maybe I'll get re-married one day and the flat won't seem so large and empty any more...
So AIBU or not?
