Does anyone have doors which are a different colour to the arch/skirting

Pictures would be appreciated, as my imagination isn’t cutting it!

After many colour swatches, I decided on a very pale grey for my woodwork. I love it on the doors but it looks really off on the skirting, too blocky(?) all being one colour.

I can’t picture how it would look if the skirting and trim was a differnt colour (white), and I don’t want to regret it after.

We have white skirting and doorframes, with stripped pine doors (old house, original doors) downstairs and Farrow & Ball Oxford Stone doors upstairs, except for one bedroom where the skirting/doorframe are also OS. It was done by the previous owners but I really like and wouldn’t change it.

There are double doors, but you can only see one of them in the photo.

We have off white skirting/door frames and grey doors - I think the exact colours are Slipper Satin on the frames and Elephant’s Breath on the doors (F&B)

We had light almost sagey green/grey doors with white woodwork for a while (because the doors were unfinished) we then painted the doors white, I actually preferred them when they were green! I think the contrast is lovely

We also have white architraves, doorframes and skirting and woodstained doors.

It work for us, but I think there needs to be enough contrast between the 2 that it's clear they are different on purpose. If the grey is very pale, it might just look like a duller/dirtier white.

Thanks everyone

That’s my worry @MismatchedPJs incase the doors just end up looking mucky.

I’ve been googling loads and finally found this photo of what it may look like (doors a slightly different shade) I like it on there, but I wonder in different light it might not look as nice. I think I’ll just give it a go and see how it turns out!
